Vic Priapi was raised on a vegetable farm in Aquebogue, Long Island, New York. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in Plant Science. He is a Maryland Certified Professional Horticulturist. In 1979 he began working for Angelica Nurseries, Inc. in Kennedyville, Maryland as the container plant grower. In 1986 he became the company's propagator, growing more than 750,000 plants annually by cuttings, seed, and grafting.
His wife Mary also grew up on Long Island in Nassau County. She graduated with a Master's degree in Nursing from Adelphi University in Garden City, Long Island, New York. She is presently employed as a Pain and Palliative Care Coordinator (MSN, ANP-BC) at The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilmington, DE. She brings to Priapi Gardens expertise in accounting and business management. Having several highly-trained horticulturists on its staff, Priapi Gardens is poised to meet the growing needs of the gardening public.
